Graphenano Composites presenta en la JEC World 2023 de París resinas con grafeno de mayor resistencia y durabilidad.
Graphenano Composites, a company based in Yecla (Murcia), has developed the world's most advanced range of resins with graphene. These products will be presented at the JEC World 2023 fair in Paris (France), the largest European exhibition dedicated to the composite materials sector, from Tuesday, April 24th to Thursday, April 27th.
The company aims to showcase a range of resins that "can be used in different sectors and which improves production processes and the characteristics of new materials", explained Graphenano's Vice President, José Antonio Martínez.
The advanced range of resins has been developed in the company's laboratories in Yecla (Murcia). By incorporating graphene, the polyester resins have achieved and even exceeded the mechanical strength of higher cost and higher technology resins, achieving greater structural rigidity and resistance to traction. "With this carbon nanomaterial, the ultimate tensile strength also increases by more than 30%", highlighted Martínez.
Another feature of the new range is that, because it contains graphene, it improves the properties of the composite and allows for less material to be used, reducing weight without affecting durability. This property also improves the protection against hydrolysis and bacteria that graphene provides.
Martínez stressed that these resins "advance construction and allow the transition from the metal era to the composite era, with improved and more advanced properties".
The JEC World 2023 event will feature more than 1,200 exhibitors in 26 pavilions and over 33,000 professional visitors interested in developing lighter, smarter, more durable and sustainable composite solutions. The program also includes the participation of experts, executives and engineers in conferences and roundtable discussions that will analyse the challenges and trends of the composite materials sector.
Graphenano, one of the largest producers of graphene in the world, is headquartered in Yecla (Murcia). The company works closely with Spanish scientists and universities and is one of the few companies in the world capable of producing high-quality graphene with high industrial production rates. It also develops disruptive applications and solutions for different markets in addition to its graphene products. To respond to all business opportunities based on the revolutionary properties of this new material, Graphenano Nanotechnologies has different divisions, including Smart Materials, Dental, Composites, Medical Care and Additives. The Yecla (Murcia) plant is where graphene is manufactured and then used in each of the subsidiaries.
Since its creation in 2012, Graphenano has invested more than 50 million euros in research. The company collaborates with numerous Spanish universities such as Alcalá de Henares, the Institute of Molecular Science at the University of Valencia (ICMOL), the University of Murcia, the University of Alicante and the UCAM of Murcia.
